ABOUT ME
My name is Dan Seager, I am a 17 year old kart racing driver who races in Senior X30, mainly in the Whilton Mill Kart Club Championship as number 53. I have been racing for around 6 years now, but have never really had the budget to be competitive. The last few years I have had a few good results, the most notable being when I secured my first ever trophy at Whilton in August 2016 for finishing 3rd of 27. Much of this success has been down to the help of Alex Rowley at AIR Motorsport. We joined Alex at the start of 2016, and since we have noticed vast improvements in the performance of the kart and myself. Alex has decided he wants to design and develop his own kart, which I will be developing with him over the winter by doing multiple tests at Whilton (AIR Kart Testing). This is very exciting to be a part of, and I look forward to another great year at AIR Motorsport.
Outside of racing, I go to college on the MSA Academy, where we get educated in Business, Sport and Motor Vehicle Technology. This year on the course, my hard work was recognised and I was invited to compete at iZone for the MSA Young Driver of the Year award. I went through a series of tests, including Simulators, physical testing and a presentation to the judges panel which consisted of many important people, including the CEO of the MSA Rob Jones! I did not win the award, likely due to my lack of experience on simulators and in cars, but I thoroughly enjoyed the day and was very grateful to be invited to the facility.
