KIMBOLTON - SEPTEMBER
For the September round of Kimbolton there were 26 drivers entered for a fully dry round. Unfortunately, we had a weekend riddled with power issues which were only fixed for the final on Sunday, which was too late by this point. On the Saturday we had power issues with both engines, switching between them and changing things to try and prevent the issues.
HEAT 1
In the first heat, we started 18th, and endured in a race long battle in the midfield, which made me slow as I did not get a clean lap the whole race. I finished 13th on the road, but on the rolling start the row I was on stopped on the way to the start line, causing an unavoidable collision and giving me a 10 second bumper penalty. This meant that I finished 22nd officially.

HEAT 2
We started 19th for Heat 2, and struggled with a lack of power the whole race, being in battled that we would normally have been ahead of. We managed to finish 14th, which is credit to the AIRkart because without such a good chassis behind me I would have been a lot lower with the issues we had.

HEAT 3
In the 3rd heat, I started 2nd, and by this point in the day I knew that we would have to limit the damage that the lack of power was causing us. I was well aware of who was around me, and did not bother defending on the opening laps because I knew that I would be risking losing more positions by holding up the pack and letting the next pack catch up - so I lost a few places instead of highly risking losing a lot. I finished 7th, which again was a great showing for the AIRkart, only losing 5 places with a major power issue.

FINAL
We changed engines again for the final, after a long check over it throughout the lunch break. We went out off P15, and despite the inside row (which I was in) getting a very slow start causing me to lose 3 or 4 places instantly, we actually had normal power for this race which was a relief. We still lacked grip a little from the tyres, but in general we were more competitive. We managed to finish 11th, which was ok considering the lack of power we had to deal with throughout the weekend.

So all in all, the AIRkart performed brilliantly considering the circumstances. On another day, who knows where we could've finished. Thanks to AIR Motorsport, and my whole family for the support.
